This is a good way to go in most situations and gives you a line that can easily be tightened or loosened without re-rigging.

Pad both trees, size your adjustable tree slings and hold them in place with the two carabiners. Clip the bigger end of the Slack-Jack™ to one carabiner and the Slack-Dog™ to the other. Pull out as much line into the Slack-Jack™ system as you need to tighten the distance to be walked. Run the slackline to the Slack-Dog™ making sure that the line stays nice and flat. Attach line to dog, and pull hard on the dog’s tail. This will pull most of the slack out. Now stretch the line tight by pulling on the Slack-Jack’s tail.
